Pink Party—Celebrating Civil War Novella by Carrie Fancett Pagels

Happy Pink Day

Carrie, Carrie the day’s finally here
You’ve sold your first book and now we get to cheer.

We’re so excited we get to party all day long
I think we should let loose and break out in song.

♫ ♫Hal-le-lu-jah , Hallelujah, Hallelujah♫ ♫ let’s sing it out loud
♫ ♫Hal-le-lu-jah , Hallelujah, Hallelujah♫ ♫ of Carrie we’re proud.

We’re so happy our hearts are filled with praise,
We want to shout our thanks to God with our hands raised.

God provided you the talent to write this marvelous story
He paved the way before you so why not give Him Glory?

We can’t wait to see all those books being bought on Amazon,
People buying them day after day, on and on and on.

We can’t wait to hear the news that you’ve written even more
We can’t wait to go pick one up at our local store.

Carrie we all love you maybe more than we can show
So that’s why we’re having you a Pretty Pink Party so our love you’ll know.

poem by Teresa Mathews

Today we want Carrie to relax and let 'her angels' take care of the giveaway.
We'll put her in her nicest pink dress and give her a cup of tea with a big piece of this beautiful cake.
And then we'll settle her in this nice rocker. We want to make sure she is comfortable. :)

  1. I'm here. I'm just so excited for Carrie, who has really put her years in learning the trade. Can't wait to read her book. Now, am I supposed to put in a #? Well, I can't decide, so without looking, I choose the # 3.

    1. Our first guest tonight! Welcome Christine with the pink T-shirt. Carrie, did you know Christine has been wearing a pink T-shirt all day? How cool is that?

    2. Christine, thanks for coming by! Everyone needs to know they can come by and comment as often as they like. Would you like a piece of the delicious cake above, Christine, or a cup of hot tea? Or something a little stronger...like root beer! ;)

    3. Oh Christi, Bless you! Thanks so much for coming by and for your kinds words of encouragement. I've been a member of ACFW for I think 7 years or more, and have participated in so many classes and conferences and webinars and seminars that yes I do feel I've been immersed in the writing craft for forever, not even counting the tons of books I have read. Hopefully it will be worth it for my readers!!! Blessings!!! Pink t-shirts rock!

    4. Joy, you look lovely! The huge flower on the front of my dress is not very comfortable when sitting down so I guess I shall have to spend the night dancing with our hero, Matthew Scott. What a chore, but someone has to do it! A piece of that luscious cake, my dear?

  4. CARRIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have waited and prayed for this day, and PRAISE BE TO GOD, it is HERE!!! One of my favorite people in the whole wide world has realized her dream of publication, and I am tinkled PINK!!!! That sweet, little novella of yours is burning a hole in my Kindle, taunting me to rush through my books of obligation to revel in the world of the Shirley Plantation. Soon, I promise it, VERY soon ...

And KUDOS to your precious crew -- Diana, Teresa, Marian and Noela -- for the BEST party blog ever -- this is GORGEOUS and the prizes are FABULOUS and the GUEST OF HONOR ... simply one of the finest human beings God ever put on this planet. I am blessed to know you ALL, but especially Carrie, since it's because of her wonderful blog and her even more wonderful personality that I have had the privilege of getting to know each of you.

Knowing and loving Carrie is certainly a prize in and of itself, but I wouldn't turn anybody down if I were to win Murray's book since I already have Mel's and Regina's. ;)

Party hardy and party on, girls!!

    Hugs,
    Julie

    5. Thanks so much, DEBBIE, and thanks again for agreeing to be a beta reader and giving my very first review!!! Yes, PTL! Keep those prayers coming and I will do the same! BTW, somehow we had a little miscommunication at OWG and I got my feelings hurt a teensy bit. I had sent a colonial novella to my agent for Helping Hands only weeks before Murray asked me to join the Civil War project and my OWG angels knew that. When I started talking to them about my novella (the Civil War one that was under contract) they didn't realize I had joined the anthology and just thought I was talking about the other novella which I had pulled back, wanting to work it a different way. So by the time they knew this novella would be coming out it was rather late, haha! I just thought they were being very low key about it. Once they realize, well, all the pink party plugs were pulled out, lol!

    3. I could use some hot tea, too. So cool here I had HOT apple cider out in Williamsburg earlier in the day. My friend and I rode in the Carter coach--no kidding. Robert Carter's coach. But, all around the hat there are tiny pink feathers...they cover the entire rim of the hat. Wow, that hat sounds awesome! Maybe MaryLu's Captain's hat should look like that...Oh! a pink boa would totally finish off the look! Tell your daughter thank you for her contribution to the party! Someone MUST snap a picture! I would love a piece of cake and a cup of tea, before I head to bed. I would love to win any of the books on #2 and I also like all the fun things in #3. Are you sure we have to decide? That pink mug with the lid, looks perfect for a cup of tea, while settling down to read one of those books! I love all the comments about Carrie--she has earned all the attention, hugs, love & kudo's! Keep iit up & I will come back to see if you are still partying when I get up.

    3. why, the R.E.L. was exquisite - to add bite we sometimes put in a dash of gunpowder - depending on how daring we are we follow up the gunpowder with a match, ending the drink with a bang!

  56. Carrie, so-o-o-o-o-o happy for you! Love Teresa's poem. Thought I'd try to make up one--

This link is truly pink...it makes me want to wink...you've arrived--no longer on the brink...let's give our glasses a clink and drink lemonade that's pink (oops, I used pink twice, I think)...my admiration for you will never shrink...I'm struggling here, my neck's starting to kink...does a keyboard ever run out of ink?...you're ready for me to stop, I think...man, this poem really does stink.

I'm wearing fuzzy slippers of pink, because I have no mink. Oh, dear, someone needs to stop me.

I know, I'm silly, but I'm very happy for you, Carrie. Sincerely.
I'd love to win prize number 2.
