OH and I emailed in my reciept of Murrays book since I have both of you ladies already ! Cannot help but love Murrays writing of history , its wonderful !
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Linda
yes, I wept in parts of Murrays, and laughed in other parts. He knows how to write characters who move you. I related to their star-crossed romance so much, since my husband worked third shift for four years and it seemed we never saw each other. Made our time together even more sweet. you will love it.
DeleteThanks LINDA for sending in MURRAY's receipt! Will put you in the drawing! u r a sweetie!
DeletePlease add the Irish gift basket, ladies! Don't make me hold my breath and turn green! LOL
ReplyDeleteoops! that was me--I want to add a giveaway to the mix. Please oh please oh please
DeleteLOL--I LOVE your Irish gift basket--it is SO ADORABLE!!! I added it!
DeleteHi Kathleen: I had a difficult time deciding which part of BACHELOR BUTTONS I liked the most, because there were so many: Civil War history, the romance, the Irish immigrant characters, or the snippet of your family history. Whatta combination for success! Thank you for an afternoon of reading enjoyment. God bless.
ReplyDeleteDiane, thank you for your incredible review and for having me on your blog, too! Hey, everybody, if you don't know Diane Kalas, you will want to know this sweet, supportive and generous spirit! She is terrific!
DeleteOh, I will have to check out your review DIANE!! I LOVE your posts about etiquette, btw!!!
DeleteSuch a fun party! I'm honored to be a part of it. All the best to Kathleen on her brand new novella! I enjoyed it so much! Also loved Carrie's--Murray, haven't read yours yet but apparently I will love it, according to everyone else who has read it! :)

DeleteThank you Jocelyn and Debbie! I am swimming in good vibes and blessings today. You all are awesome. :D
ReplyDeleteYes, you will love Murray's story. I was taken right in. Didn't want it to end.
What an absolutely wonderful page, Kathleen! The Irish basket is beautiful....as is your story, Bachelor Buttons. I'm honored to be in your company. And to Carrie, thank you for sharing this with me. You're all so delightful! Joy Ross Davis
DeleteOh u snuck in JOY!!! Great to see u here! Will be fun to see u on board with the Cry of Freedom project soon.
Deleteit's not surprising Kathleen has Irish blood - when I first met her on FB I thought of a song dad/granddad always sung, "I'll take you home again Kathleen" - so when she mentioned the other day family had been in the 69th Regiment, the Irish Brigade, knew she had been named by Irish parents - Kathleen you should tell people here about your family connections to the 69th!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a great idea, Murray. My great grandfather on my mother's father's side was also from Manhattan. John Cronin came over on the boat in the late 1840's as a baby as his family escaped the Potato Famine. He enlisted in 1864 as a 15-year-old, and lied about his age to get in. I suspect he did it for the bounty he could collect for his family. He fought in the 69th regiment and was there at the siege of Petersburg and even the signing at Appomattox. He marched in the Grand Review in Washington with the Fighting Irish as a veteran. He went on to march in the St Paddy's Day parade every year in Manhattan with the surviving veterans, and caught his death of pneumonia at that parade. Remarkable life. I can't imagine my son enlisting in a year--he's 14. Even my 22 year old. It's staggering!
DeleteWell, MURRAY, I am Irish, too. My William Christy was the son of an Irish immigrant. And supposedly I have Scots-Irish ancestors who were originally Scottish so I dk if that was him or if there are more such as my Hayes ancestors. We always celebrated St. Patrick's Day and my mom was proud of her Irish roots KATHY!!!
DeleteCongrats to KATHY, CARRIE, MURRAY, and JOCELYN! What an exciting day for everyone. Kathy I can't wait to read your new book, I am so excited for you. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa. I finally have my pdfs, so I will email it to you soon! You are such a sweetie! Thank you and yes, congrats to everyone!

DeleteHello Kathleen, congratulations on your debut novella. I love the title. Flowers are always nice. It's a very pretty flower and I love the Violin also. I love music. Hello to you other sweeties too. I don't know when I will ever get to read the stories of Carrie's, Murray's,, and Yours, but I'm sure I will find all of them very interesting. I do have Jocelyn's "Wedded to War" book, but haven't gotten it read yet. (It was in Print :). Woe is me, I have never gotten enough nerve to try to do a review. But, I do tell others that they need to read your books. I do love you all, and these are some great parties. Also, very nice gifts. Just keep up the good work. God bless each of you. DeleteOh my, I am late to the party, so please forgive me!! Just finished typing, printing, assembling and inserting into corks (reception is at a winery) 210 name cards; proofing, punching, tying twine on 210 programs, assembling votives, lanterns, etc. for a wedding in TWO DAYS, so I am bushed.
ReplyDeleteBUT ... couldn't turn in without coming by to congratulate each of these fabulous authors on their new releases and a double congrats to Joss for the double Christy nom!! I have only read two of the four books so far (Joss's and Carrie's), but I have every confidence Kathleen's and Murray's will be just as wonderful because my pump has been PRIMED for Civil War by the very talented Mrs. Green and Mrs. Pagels!!
As a Gone With the Wind freak, I am LOVING all these books during the Civil War, so I hope they fly off the shelves, my friends! :)
Hugs,
Julie
We will keep praying for the MOTHER-OF-THE-BRIDE and all her ministrations on behalf of her very BLESSED daughter! I can only imagine what an amazing wedding this is going to be. You could get an entire new series out of this I bet! And it is great that you have the energy to do this type of thing to bless your girl--I can't do all those crafts any more although I LOVE that kind of thing. ((((HUGS))))
