  31. Happy Sunday, Ladies!! Just taking a break from gardening to drop by and say Hi and thank you all so much for commenting!! And for your kind words! Pursuit of Lucy Banning by Olivia Newport

    Have a great evening!

  38. Wow--what wonderful reading lists! Mine is so long it's scary. At the moment I'm deep in history books, researching WWII Germany for the setting of my next book--at least the one I hope to write!

Siri Mitchell's, "The Messenger" is next on my TBR fiction list.

Thank you so much for sharing my books through your blog--I'm truly honored, and look forward to discussing "Promise Me This" through the ACFW Book Club!

    God's Blessings and Happy Reading!

  39. This is so nice - I'm reading everyone else's comments and see so many books I haven't read and new authors for me too.

I'm looking forward to Veil of Pearls by MaryLu Tyndall. I've just started reading Composing Amelia by Alison Strobel.

    On the list are also:

Chronicles of the Kings series by Lynn Austin
The Frontiersman's Daughter by Laura Frantz
Heart of Gold and Belonging by Robin Lee Hatcher
Five Miles South of Peculiar by Angela Hunt
The Girl's Still Got It by Liz Curis Higgs

    Ahhhh... isn't reading great?

    Caroline mcallister@bmts.com

  40. From my other comment above - That's "The Girl's Still Got It : Take a Walk With Ruth and the God Who Rocked Her World" by Liz Curtis Higgs. Sorry for the typo!

    ReplyDelete
  41. CAROLINE - Laura's The Frontiersman's Daughter is still my fav Christian book. But I have been warned by Julie Lessman that Laura's upcoming release is even better, so we'll see. And I have to say Veil of Pearls is AMAZING and not to be missed. I would love to see that made into a movie.

  42. I am SO excited to see all of these ideas of books to read!

Here is my list so far (in order of what I am looking forward to most):

    "Veil of Pearls" MaryLu Tyndall
"Central Park Rendezvous" Mary Lu Tyndall
"The Rose of Winslow Street" Elizabeth Camden
"Lady of Milkweed Manor" Julie Klassen
"The Ride of Her Life" Lorna Seilstad(setting: summer lake in Idaho)
"Prize of my Heart" Lisa Noradto
"Hearts Safe Passage" Laurie Alice Eakes
    "Short Straw Bride" Karn Witemeyer
"Dark Hour" Ginger Garrett (great historical/biographical fiction)
("One of the darkest and bloodiest stories of all time comes not from a medieval battlefield but from inside one of the most opulent palaces ever built. The strategies come not from men eager to extend their influence but from women bent on exercising their wit and prowess in a kingdom not their own. Treason and murder are fair game. Marriage is manipulation, a means to an end. Children are the enemy. And the days of the House of David are numbered--unless one woman can find the strength to conquer them all").
    "Book of Days" James Rubart
(maybe reread Debrah White Smith's "Central Park" -- a take on Jane Austen's Mansfield Park)

And then, of course, I'll probably reread one of MaryLu's books (Redemption or Surrender the Heart) and try out some of the authors listed above. I am not doubt bookmarking this page!

  44. CAROLINE

I really enjoyed Lynn Austen's Chronicles of the Kings series! It makes that history totally come to life! I also really enjoy Ginger Garrett's perspectives.

Have you read any of Francine River's Lineage of Grace books?

    ReplyDelete
  45. LifeDance :

Yes, I've read one of the Lineage of Grace books. I forgot that I have them all in one book ... I'll add that to my reading list now! Thanks for the reminder! All of Lynn Austin's books are great too for the historical fiction. I finished her "Wonderland Creek" not too long ago and really enjoyed it.

I'm also hoping to read MaryLu Tyndall's "Charlestown Belles" series ...
