Changes are in God's Hands -- and Reflect His Plans

Cameo Courtships from Barbour Publishing June 2019
You might be wondering what this cover form Cameo Courtships, by Susanne Dietze, Debra E. Marvin, Jennifer Uhlarik, and Kathleen Y'Barbo has to do with my topic of change. You see, this collection was originally pitched in a proposal that included me and several other authors. Barbour Publishing had been putting out amazing, and great value, collections with seven to nine novellas in each one. I've been in some of those collections, myself, and was blessed by it. You can imagine how expensive it must be to print those large (over 400 good-sized pages) with the beautiful deckle edges they had on them. Then things were changed up and the new collections were determined to have only four authors in them. So the leads for each proposal had to make adjustments. In this case, lovely Susie Dietze had to figure out how to go forward. This was not the only proposal that I was part of where the lead had to make corrections. I volunteered out of another, which will be published later this year. And I had one of my own (Lessons on Love) which will be published in October with three other authors including the fabulous Rita-finalist Susanne Dietze, who was the lead on the Cameo Courtship collection.

Change in life is inevitable, isn't it? Right now one of my author friends and I are working with four different possible proposals, multiple authors. We've already had two authors opt out of one of the collection ideas and another author join us. One thing that hasn't changed is that all of the authors serve God and all write for His glory. And that's what matters. Change will happen, but it's all in God's hands. We don't always like the changes that life brings, but when we trust God's provision, we'll be headed in the right direction.

Giveaway: I'm giving away a copy of this beautiful new release -- Cameo Courtship. Answer this question to enter: Are you surprised by changes or are you more likely to keep rolling on?

Giveaway -- Guest Review of Susanne Dietze's "First Things First" in First Love Forever Romance Collection

"First Things First"
novella by Susanne Dietze
Five Stars *****
A Sweet Reminder
Review by Andrea Stephens

"First Things First" is in First Love Forever Romance Collection (Barbour, April 2018) By Erica Vetsch, Susanne Dietze, Cynthia Hickey, Marcia Gruver, Carrie Fancett Pagels, Martha Rogers, Lorna Seilstad, Connie Stevens, and Jennifer Uhlarik

I was very touched by each of the novellas in this 5 Star book. Each story tells of a couple separated by time for varying reasons, being reunited in unique circumstances.

-First Things First by Susanne Dietze. Georgie and Ward grow up together and fall in love. Thinking he would never be good enough to marry her, Ward leaves town. He returns years later, a lawyer, hoping to better his family name and reputation.

As Georgie and Ward work together to clear her brother of bizarre charges, they realize the feelings they had for each other are still there but they decide to just be friends. I can't say exactly what happens without spoilers. I can say drama ensues, things of the past come to light.

There is a sweet message reminding us to let God take care of things and put Him first.

Giveaway: An autographed copy of First Love Forever.

We also have a Rafflecopter giveaway going on all through April.

Be sure to enter to be one of the winners of the MANY great gifts we have!!!

Character Interview -- Susanne Dietze's Georgie Bridge -- "First Things First"

Georgie Bridge's Character Inspiration -- Jessica Alba

Carrie Fancett Pagels here. I had the privilege of interviewing heroine Georgie Bridge (AKA author Susanne Dietze) about her story in the First Love Forever Romance Collection (Barbour, April 2018)

CFP: Welcome, Georgie! What's going on with you?
My brother has been arrested for kidnapping. He's innocent of course! My mother is pregnant and we're afraid she's dying. I feel as though I must take care of my younger siblings. And we have cattle missing from the ranch.

CFP: What about -- Romance?
The only man I have loved has come back to town. He went away to become a lawyer. Ward is the opposing counsel in a case against my father!

But I'm juggling a lot of responsibilities.

CFP: How has juggling all those things affecting you?
I feel like need to handle everything. I often forget to ask God to help me. But Ward has been reminding me that I need to do that.

CFP: Is Ward also helping you in other ways?
Yes, he is the lawyer now for my brother. He's trying to get him out of jail. Ward is a wonderful emotional support to me in other ways, too.

CFP: Georgie, what spiritual truths are helping you?
As the title of my story says -- "First Things First." God has to be put first and I need to trust Him with my family
.
CFP: That's a wonderful thing to learn! Thanks for visiting with us Georgie (and Susanne!)

Three Little Matchmakers Novella by Susanne Dietze

Three Little Matchmakers in The Regency Brides Collection
By Susanne Dietze

A Trio of Delights!
Review by Carrie Fancett Pagels

I am an unabashed Susie Dietze fan, and I wasn't disappointed!
5 Stars for this Novella!

Set at Staffordshire, England 1817, this is an adorable story! Miss Caroline Dempsey was close childhood friends with the new Earl of Marsden’s sister. When Caroline’s friend, Esther, and her husband die, their children are left with their uncle Henry Graves and move to Marsden Hall. The daughter of a parson, Caroline grew up nearby and spent a lot of time on the estate. She had a big crush on Henry. But when she becomes governess, she wonders what kind of man he has become.

In the British aristocratic tradition, Henry believes the children would benefit from boarding school. But Caroline has other ideas. She is looking at the needs of the kids. Family needs to be first. The children feel the same way. They take matters into their own hands with disastrous results.

Unfortunately, I did not get to read the rest of the novellas in The Regency Brides Collection yet! But I’m longing to do so as they all look wonderful and by some of my favorite authors! I downloaded my copy from NetGalley and am under no obligation to post a positive review.

This book will be available in large print hard-cover format from Thorndike Press, Gale division, in February 2018.

Giveaway: Ask your library to pre-order this hardcover book and leave your comment below for a chance to win a copy of any one Barbour book with a story from Susanne Dietze (click here to see her books.)
