Celebrating Debbie Lynne Costello's Debut Novel!

Welcome to our party to celebrate Debbie Lynne Costello's release of her wonderful new novel! As you can see, our knight has just ridden in, looking for his fair lady! Will he find her?

I think he has spied her! What is she wearing? Go to our Facebook party page to post a picture of your own attire for this event!

Make sure to leave a comment on this blog post, though, to enter for our drawings.

Medieval times were not for the faint of heart, and our heroine goes through many trials in the course of her story!
Medieval Apple Tart we are serving this on the OvercomingwithGod.com blog for @Debbie Lynne Costello's party!

We're serving an apple tart all day long (see Tartys in Applis on Medieval Cookery website). To accompany it, I'm serving mulled apple cider.  Also have an egg custard to go with it and crusty bread covered in honey butter.

Serve yourself or wait on the table wenches to bring you around your food. Remember there is no silverware (this is Medieval times, remember?) but we'll bring around some towels for you to clean up with. Meanwhile, have some hot mulled cider!

Author Debbie Lynne Costello
I had the privilege of reading Debbie Lynne's wonderful new book, Sword of Forgiveness, which has already hit the Hot New Releases category PLUS gotten onto the main Christian  historical romance lists on Amazon! Congrats to Debbie Lynne!
Sword of Forgiveness by Debbie Lynne Costello

You can purchase Sword of the Spirit at Amazon. Only $3.99 so buy now!!!

Available in ebook and in paperback soon!

Isn't Lord Royce handsome? And Lady Brithwin is so lovely! Great cover!

Would you like to write an old-fashioned love letter?
We have just the thing for you--vellum sheets and a quill pen.
While parchment was made from cow hides (ew!) in medieval times, I thought we'd stick with the new-fangled stuff! And who
wouldn't want a hot pink quill pen? Seriously?

I feel pretty sure Lady Brithwin would have enjoyed this.
Since only the privileged, and usually not women, could read
or write in medieval times, I suspect Lady Brithwin would have
had to have snuck around to learn how to do so. She's a lady of
many talents and certainly not bound by convention--one of her
traits I really enjoyed!
Slow Cooker Hot Spiced Apple Cider - With just four ingredients (okay, five if you decide to spike it with your favorite rum) this Crock Pot mulled cider recipe couldn't be any easier to make.

Coming up for our evening menu - the cooks are busy in the back!!!
Doesn't the food smell amazing?  Not so sure if I'll have any of the, er, pork, though--don't want to make a pig of myself!
A knight and his squire preparing for joust

Ah, I see the jousting tournament is about to get underway!

Gauging by the crowds' reaction there seem to be some favorites already

Giveaway: A pair of silver equestrian earrings (Debbie Lynne owns a number of horses and of course horses feature prominently in the novel!) Another reader will win our parchment and quill set. Debbie Lynne is also giving away a copy of her new release! Meanwhile, make yourself a Medieval party hat (click here.)

    5. Thank you, Lady Carrie! I love your gown as well, and that color brings out the lovely glow in your cheeks. Very happy, but I certainly hope Lady Brithwin doesn't mind if I steal some time with her knight. I just want to find out if he has an equally charming brother. Perhaps that's anther story. ;)

    2. Enjoy the little ones! BTW, it isn't hard to make a ladies hat for them if they are little girls! Just take a long piece of cardboard and roll it into a cone and secure it (I don't recommend staples!) You can also use flexible craft foam. Then place a pice of cloth or lace or preferably an old chiffon scarf works great and shove that through the top of the cone and tie a knot underneath so it doesn't pull out.

I love the beautiful gowns everyone is wearing and such a variety of steeds out in the pasture, so mine won't be lonely. It was a chilly ride here, a cup of that hot mulled cider will take the chill off as well as the warm fire. The crusty bread with honey butter smells heavenly.
