Pink Anniversary Party for Diana and Paul Flowers

Today we would like to introduce you to our guests of honor, Paul and Diana Flowers. If you have read Carrie's new Novella Return to Shirley Plantation, you will remember them as the Quaker Couple from the Underground Railway. We have secreted them away (in disguise) for a short time so we can all wish them a Happy 40th Anniversary.

Here is a beautiful message from Diana to her beloved Paul;
Forty one yrs. ago I met a young man who believed a promise was a promise -- a vow was a vow. He vowed to love me in sickness and in health, for better and for worse, (and we have seen worse --trust me), and even tho he was young and not making much money he promised to buy me a nice home some day. To be a good father to my children...and to take care of me. He kept every one of those vows. Happy 40th Anniversary to my hubby, Paul!

Now let's show them how much we love and appreciate them. Leave Paul and Diana a comment and you'll be entered in a drawing for Carrie's new book Return to Shirley Plantation or Julie Lessman's new book, Love at Any Cost. Tell us in your comment which one you'd like if picked. International Winners E-Book Only.

    4. Diana I can't take credit for the background you know Marian did that, but I did "steal" some of your pics and cropped them for the cute heart balloons. I looked in all of your pics and mine to find one with you and Paul together, no luck. :)

    5. Can you tell I don't like to get my pic taken! He asked me for one of us together on our anniversary and I said wait til I'm fixed up a little better. It is a milestone so I kinda regret it. :)

    3. Since you can't be a day over 30 yours must have been an arranged marriage between your parents BEFORE you were even BORN! ;)

    4. EXACTLY, T--1800's they married at 5, lol! Or maybe u r right about the arranged marriage!!!

  4. Hey Diana--you didn't tell me you two were in this one--VERY COOL! I am so happy to be able to say we have known each other for about 35 of those 40 years and I am so glad that Paul made the effort to look us up, so we could connect again! We are right behind you guys--it will be 40 for us in July! I would say, you need to tell Paul to bring you to Italy for your 40th, so you can come explore with me! ;-)

Since I have already purchased Carrie's book, I would love to have another book from Julie!

  6. DIANA and PAUL, CONGRATS!!! 40 years is no small feat!!! And all the smuggling you did during that time--awesome! You helped a lot of people to freedom! So very glad I have gotten to know Paul a little bit too. When my carriage was misdirected and mired from heavy rain, Paul came out and helped me get to your plantation in SC. Very kind and hospitable man. And married to a wife who is likewise. Wishing you a wonderful anniversary full of pink happiness!!!

    1. CARRIE, I'm so glad Paul was able to get you here with no mishaps! The work we do is very dangerous as you well know. We had a very good time at my plantation with the Holy Ghost right in the center visiting with us!

Thank you so much for everything you do! Just enjoyed our phone conversation, too! lol Love you bunches!

No offense to Carrie, but if I'm selected the winner today, I'd love a copy of Julie's new book, Love at Any Cost. I've read all of Julie's books and am looking forward to this new series.
Thanks for this party; I'm enjoying all the beautiful photos you post each day.

  17. " CONGRATULATIONS" on your "40th" you kids! You don't look old enough to have been married that long, for sure. May GOD bless you with another 40. Saw a couple on TV that had been married 80 years. Looked in pretty good shape too! :) And, Diana. Ummmm!! So we have to use our imagination about your dress that we can't see???? Ooh-kay.! ( I am proud of all you did on the Underground Railroad. It must have been very scary work. But, a very good cause. ) Carrie, I would like to have Julie's new book. Will have to wait until you have yours in paperback. And, Diana, won't be long till Christmas time again. Not with the way time is passing so fast now-days for me. Seems each year gets shorter. God bless you Paul and Diana. Maxie

I am looking at Julie's new book right now, and am chomping at the bit to dig into it, but am halfway thru another book at the moment. I hope you get a chance to read it asap! And CARRIE'S is awesome...I'm so proud of her!!!

  18. Congratulations Diana and Paul on your 40th wedding anniversary. You kids sure know what the word "cleve" means! It also shows how special both of you are to God, and He is to you. Honestly, I still don't believe you are over 18, Diana...you appear too young. I haven't seen Paul - and he must be an exceptional man to be your pick for life. I pray many added years of blessings of marital bliss for you lovebirds. I raise your marriage up as a glory to God.

Oh my, since I'm now devouring Julie's latest book - I would be absolutely blessed to win Carrie's book. It sounds enthralling.

    1. BARB, what a lovely thing to say! Thank you so much. It hasn't always been easy, but the Bible says it's better to never make a vow, than to make one and break it. We made them for better and for worse, but you're right he is a lucky man to have gotten me! LOL No, it's surely the other way around! So nice to see you here!

And no need to put me in the drawing. I would rather buy books to support my sister authors.
