A good list with great books, Diana! I have read 6 of the books on your list and they are also on my list...we enjoy the same books! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, we do, MARIAN! Wasn't this a year of fabulous books?! It was really hard to leave anyone out -- they were all so great.
DeleteThanks, Diana :) "Walks Alone" and "Veil of Pearls" will be on my list too. I'm sadly behind on my Julie Klassen and Julie Lessman reading, although I always enjoy both of those authors. I've been trying to branch out and try new people this year, but I don't think I'm going to get to ten books on my list, so maybe I need to go back to the old faithfuls.
ReplyDeleteI also have to read a lot of unpublished books for WhiteFire. I loved getting that sneak peek at "Walks Alone."
You ladies will love Christine Lindsay's "Captured by Moonlight" coming in 2013. And while it's not a romance, "Paint Chips" by Susie Finkbeiner is also an awesome book coming soon. It really has a strong "bibliotherapy" value, which I know Carrie looks for.
Christine is sending me Captured by Moonlight soon (loved Shadowed in Silk -- that made my fav list last year), and will be looking for Paint Chips. Thanks, DINA, and congrats for making our lists!
DeleteInteresting list DIANA! There are a few on your list that are right at the TOP of my TBR list but that I just haven't been able to get to!! And 5 that I absolutely LOVE!! The others.. I obviously need to check out!! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't tried any of Rita's, put them at the top of your stack, NOELA! She is a master of description and you will feel as though you can see everything in your mind's eye, not to mention she sure can tell a story!
DeleteAwesome list! I only have one of them but I will say the one I want to read the most is The Tutor's Daughter, and of course, the "other" Julie's books ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, ANNE! My review and Marian's of The Tutor's Daughter will be up soon. No spoilers...haha. Loved that book!
DeleteNice list! A couple here I enjoyed too, and a couple more on my TBR pile. How will we ever get all the books read we want to? Lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering that very same thing, NAOMI, b/c yours are definitely on my TBR list!! Nearer to the top than they were...
DeletePINCH ME!!! Two books on your list, Diana ... I am BEYOND blessed, my friend, and SOOO very grateful to you for your support and that of all the OTT gals. It's very easy to see we have the same taste because many of the books you have listed above would be on my list too, guaranteed!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, my friend, and I wish you and yours a BLESSED New Year!
Hugs,
Julie
JULIE, you are so welcome! You know you have a fan in all of us!! Weren't there some great books out there this past year? wow!
DeleteA very blessed, prosperous, and healthy New Year to you and yours, JULIE!!
Wow...I am thrilled and honored to be selected for your list. Thank you SO much, Diana, for all you do!!
ReplyDeleteYou're so welcome, SERENA! It's such a pleasure to do what we do!!
DeleteI feel so honored that you included the first two books in my Daughters of the Potomac Series. I am so grateful to have your support and encouragement. Congrats to all the authors on the list.
ReplyDeleteThese books were the bomb, RITA, and I can't wait to read the third and final book in this series! You are one of the finest authors out there and it's a joy to help promote your books!
DeleteI second Julie in saying, PINCH ME:) Diana, so thankful for you and being here with so many fine authors. I have favorites of the same books on your list, too, and am making a note to read others. It's a wonderful thing to have too many books! Makes me want to make a list of my own - or at least a list of my favorite reading friends, of which you'd be at the very top, my friend!
ReplyDeleteLAURA, you are always at the top, my friend, so no pinching allowed. lol And thank you for putting me at the top somewhere amongst your fav reading friends -- I'm honored! Can't wait to read the next book in this series!! Happy New Year to you and yours!
DeleteI love Rita Gerlach's books and glad to see them on this list. Rita's characters go through tough times, their faith being used in realistic ways, and they overcome in the end. Very appropriate for this blog ;) I need to catch up on Julie Klassen, too.
ReplyDeleteI quite agree with you about Rita's books! I love them b/c they are "out of the box" so to speak and you never know what is going to happen next! Same with Laura Frantz's books. An avid reader gets tired of predictable books at times. Thanks for coming by, KAREN!
DeleteDIANA great list of AWESOME books! Would you believe we have a LOT of the same ones? We NEVER think alike at all do we??
ReplyDeleteI was thinking our list had to be ten favs but I'm so glad to see that's not the case. I have a few more I want to add to mine. When you read stacks of wonderful books it too hard to narrow them down to just ten. :)
I added a few that I just couldn't pass up, TERESA! It was just so hard to choose -- I loved everything I read this year! Can't wait to see what 2013 has in store in the way of books!
DeleteWhat a bunch of awesome books. A great many I've read, like Love in Three Quarter Time, and Walks Alone, and loved them both. But the rest I definately must get my hands on. Some wonderful writers in this list.
ReplyDeleteAren't they, though?! I am a picky reader, so the ones that made it on here truly deserved it IMO! Anxious to read Captured By Moonlight soon, Christine!!
DeleteYay! I made the list. :-) Thank you so much, Diana. I'm honored, I'm flattered! And I agree with your other choices.. at least the ones I've read.!!! Rita's, Julie's, Laura's, Lisa's, and Klassens'.. the others I haven't read. But all these ARE SO GOOD!! I'm thrilled to even be mentioned among such talent!! Bless you!! And Merry Christmas everyone!
ReplyDeleteHow could I not include yours, MaryLu?! Besides the fabulous storyline, the setting is one of my favorite spots in the world...Charleston, SC! Looking forward to your next book soon, ML!! Merry Christmas!
DeleteI've read four of the books on your list, and there are at least four more on there that I really want to read!
ReplyDeletePatty
PATTY, I hope you get a chance to read them all! Would I steer you wrong? lol Well, not on purpose anyway. ;)
DeleteSo honored, my friend! Glad GLAM made your top 10. Now I'll be biting my nails to hear what you think about GRAVE CONSEQUENCES come March...Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI'm awaiting it with bated breath, LISA! Especially since you left us hanging off that cliff in GLAM! LOL Loved it, though!
DeleteDi, it's so cool to have your thumbs up for my Civil War book. People like it but most of the attention seems to have gone to The Wings of Morning this past year. But we love all our children, don't we? So thank you for blessing The Face of Heaven. It means a LOT!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't got to The Wings of Morning yet, but have heard wonderful things about it! Living in the deep south, the Civil War era tends to hold my interest more than others, and I can tell that you put sooo much work into TFoH. And yep, we love all of our children! :)
DeleteWoo hoo! Love being on your list, Diana. Thanks so much. I haven't read all of these yet. Time to add to my Amazon shopping cart... Happy 2013!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your books, JULIE! They just keep getting better and better -- loved The Tutor's Daughter...A.W.E.S.O.M.E.
DeleteYep, time to fill that Amazon cart up! Happy New Year, JULIE!
Nice List! Looks like the galls on OTT have the same taste :)
ReplyDeleteI have read just two that are on the list, Lessman and Pura and I do agree the are gold!
Do you galls also have a list of Thrillers? Or are you just in the Romance stories? (I like all genres)
Hi, Mirjam! I read an occasional suspense book when I get the craving, but MARIAN and TERESA, whose favorites will be coming up as well this week are more into the thrillers than I. :) Alot of the books I mentioned above have some suspense in them. Not just romance only...
DeleteWhat a GREAT list, Diana!! Soooo many incredible authors and a few I've not heard of but very interested in :)
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed Maid of Fairbourne Hall, such a wonderful read!
Veil of Pearls is also a must have; I'm working on getting Face of Heaven, To Whisper Her Name, Love in Three Quarter Time, and Tutor's Daughter.....so about half your list names books that I'm eager to get my hands on :)
Thanks for sharing Diana, it's such a treat seeing what other booklovers are reading :)
Happy New Year, hugs and blessings to you!!
Thank you for coming by, KARA! I am a picky reader so these are the ones that made it! lol You will love The Tutor's Daughter which is the latest one I finished on the list! And Julie Klassen is just about as sweet as they come!
DeleteThank you for including Walks Alone! I'm honored to be on this list! xxx
ReplyDeleteSANDI, I feel as though this book is not as well known as some of the others on my list -- and all I can say is that EVERYONE needs to read this fabulous book! It is like no other! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the way of upcoming books, Sandi!
DeleteThank you, Diana! It's encouraging to have fans like you! :-)
DeleteSANDI, you are an encouragement and an inspiration to us all! Happy New Year, SANDI!
DeleteWow what a great list - I want to read everyone of them. Thanks for bringing them to our attention. Some of the authors are not yet familiar, but soon they will be. Becky
ReplyDeleteI agree, BECKY! Soon all of these authors will become household names! Hope you get the chance to read these asap!
