  2. I know that problem Debra! Too many good books, not enough hours in a day...

    ReplyDelete
  3. I know that also. I keep buying books and they just keep piling up. Ha

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hey, ladies! Books are like shoes...you can never have enough!

    ReplyDelete
  5. DIANA, In my case I HATE shoes,(I do wear them but under protest!) but now BOOKS are a totally different story! LOL!!!

Ladies if you haven't read these books, you are missing out, HURRY and grab 'em while they're HOT! :)

  6. We all did our lists up and then I compiled them, which was fun and interesting to see who picked what!

  7. I'm must agree with The Colonel's Lady and The Maid of Fairbourne Hall, wonderful books. Since June, I've also loved Head in the Clouds by Karen Witemeryer and Waterfall by Lisa Bergren.

  8. Julie Klassman's The Maid of Fairbourne Manor (January, 2012) How did I miss this one? read Song of my Heart....by Kim...very good got Vanetta's....so I'll have to check out some of these. The book that I've picked up that captured me enough to read twice...Ginny Yttrup...LOST AND FOUND. I promise you will find yourself in that book. but I've read lots of good books....

  9. VIRGINIA, I am gonna be in SO MUCH trouble!!! I have you calling Julie Klassen Julie Klassman, too, yikes!!! I messed that up. You have to read Julie Klassman's MoFM, it is GREAT! As penance, I added on two giveaways this week - so maybe you will win it!!! I haven't read Ginny's work yet - thanks for sharing. Blessings!

  10. MERRY, you like a lot of the same stuff we do! We tried to stick with past six months but our two favorites, Julie Lessen OOPs Julie Lessman (I am being bad, aren't I?) and Laura Frantz had those great books out before then so we had from prior to the six months.

  11. LOL! I never even noticed the boo boo, CARRIE. Some editor I would make! I HAVE heard of people getting them mixed up b/c of the similarities in their names before, though! This is just going to be one of those "wekks." lol!

  12. Oh, I have one to add. I LOVED Heart's Safe Passage by Laurie Alice Eakes. That's the best published inspy I've read in the past few months. I've read an unpublished inspy that was equally as riveting, but I'm afraid the rest of the world will have to wait until next winter before the book releases. :-)

  13. I'm not too sure about release dates, but here are a few books that I've really enjoyed in the last few months: Baby, It's Cold Outside by Susan May Warren, A Heart Revealed by Julie Lessman, Fairer Than Morning by Rosslyn Elliott, The Rose of Winslow Street by Elizabeth Camden, From This Day Forward by Margaret Daley and Out of Control by Mary Connealy. These are only a few of the many books I've read lately. My too-be-read pile is still quite large! You have several books on your list that I want to read but haven't gotten to yet.

  15. NAOMI, I think that was one of my choices, too, can't quite remember for sure, but we had to narrow them down.

Marissa, it sounds like we are on the same page, pardon the pun. However, as unbelievable as it may seem, I have never read Francine Rivers!

    ReplyDelete
  16. PAM, we have had most of those authors' reviews here on the blog lately...give or take one or two. Great choices!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I loved Promise Me This by Cathy Gohlke and The Maid of Fairbourn Hall. Great list ladies!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Wonderful list - have to get reading! Maybe now that tax season is winding down I will have time to indulge. Loved "Rose of Winslow Street" and you can't go wrong with any of Julie Klassen's books. Another great book to add to the list is "A Lasting Impression" by Tamera Alexander.

  28. My fave picks would start with The Maid of Fairbourne Hall, then Words Spoken True, and I would add the Baroness and Heiress books by Susan May Warren. I haven't read The Colonel's Lady, though!
I am still looking for the second Lessman book in the Boston/Passion series,, cannot believe my local stores don't have it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I still have to read The Maid of Fairbourne Hall. I'm looking for a short vacation to read this one. Carrie keeps me busy reading and reviewing. LOL

In my last short vacation I read Words Spoken True. It was sooo good!! I didn't review it, because I had vacation. :))

  30. I have several of those listed in my TBR pile. I did read Maid of Fairbourne Hall...loved.it!!! I would say my other top historical read since October has been The Guardian Duke by Jamie Carie. Of course, I only recently read Julie Lessman's A Passion Most Pure, and that was phenomenal, but it doesn't count for 2011 published books :)

Hanging my head in shame...I haven't read A Colonel's Lady yet and I won it on here last year. But I will. Soon. I promise.

    ReplyDelete
  31. CARRIE SAID: "but our two favorites, Julie Lessen OOPs Julie Lessman (I am being bad, aren't I?)"

YES, you are, you little brat!! NOW ... if READERS would just mix us up, I'd be pretty darn happy ... ;)

PAM, MARISSA AND PATTY AND TARDY ANNE, thank you SO much for reading my books -- I am BLESSED!! But, Anne, you honestly have had Colonel's Lady close by and have NOT read it yet??? WOW ... now I don't feel so bad that you took so long with A Passion Most Pure, but do yourself a favor -- READ IT, IT'S WONDERFUL, like ALL of Laura's books!!

Thanks again, Carrie, for featuring Laura and me outside the October window -- you are THE BEST!!

    Hugs,
    Julie

  32. SHARON, you our our latest WINNER. You can take your pick of Julie Lessman's books. You won one or more of hers before, you blessed gal! CONGRATS!

  41. I haven't read any of these books yet. I'm a Lori Wick, Jeanette Oke, Beverly Lewis, and Francine Rivers fan.

Now that I'm retired from teaching, it's time to broaden the authors I read!

Thank you for offering this book to one of us.

  44. Well, MARIE BURTON would have been our random.org winner but she did not leave an email addy. http://www.burtonbookreview.com/ That is her website and since she is a book reviewer, with a beautiful site (!), I am betting she doesn't need to enter any contests to win a book, lol! Back to random.org!

  45. Random.org picked LESLIE PAYNE, who is one of the newest members of the ACFW MidAtlantic Zone, yay! CONGRATS, Leslie! I checked out your blog, too, "Living With Payne" and feel free to post the link over here, too!

I just read that Marie Burton ordered the missing Lessman book today. So, she's probably getting the book soon.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks so much for the win! It was a very happy surprise today. As I am so new to ACFW and this type of reading, I'm quite excited.
