Happy Birthday, Sarah, from all of us at Overcoming Through Time! Congrats on winning the Genesis Award and all of your other writing accomplishments as well!
ReplyDeleteAll of these cakes this week are doing me in! I'm on a diet, ladies! Have mercy on this carrot eating soul! LOL! Those cupcakes look mighty good, Carrie! Is that chocolate morsels I see in them? groan...
Those Dutch picks are adorable and I hope Sarah enjoys them, too! MARIAN, I think the flash obscured the images on them but they are so cute!
ReplyDeleteDIANA, I have to go back and see who all our authors were for our giveaway for today. Yes, we love chocolate at our house. I made those in silicone cupcake baking thingies, some are diamond shaped!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Sarah!!!! I hope you have a very blessed day.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Sarah. Hoping the best outcome for your proposal. I'd love to give you a copy of my novel, The Chamomile, as a birthday present. I'll need your snail mail address.
(And, Carrie, I'm trying to find out about this "Anonymous said stuff," and hope to have it resolved soon.)
SARAH may have gone on to a real live birthday party for her nephew and herself this afternoon, but I want to take drink requests. So, SUSAN, hard cider or regular, you colonial gal?! And you are SO GENEROUS to offer SARAH a copy of the CHAMOMILE! I love that book!
ReplyDeleteELAINE, LAURA, and MARYLU, are you colonial gals wanting Patriot coffee or Loyalist tea? So glad you could come for Sarah's party!
ReplyDeleteAnd our HISWriters European fiction folks DINA and MELANIE - welcome and aren't we glad that SARAH has now joined our group? We hope to see more of her over there. Coffee or tea?
ReplyDeleteI see a bunch of our OTT friends here who I am sure Sarah will want to greet when she returns! In the meantime, BARB, WREN, JUDY, BARBARA, and SHIRLEY and my DD's twin MELISSA (just kidding but they resemble each other) I will bring around iced sweet tea and lemonade in a moment.

ReplyDeleteI would love a cup of REAL coffee. Supplies have been almost nonexistent since the British occupied the city, so the fine ladies of Charlestown have been concocting substitutes. The worst so far is coffee made from boiled acorns. The boiled hickory nuts weren't so bad, but there's no sugar or cream to speak of and it all tastes bitter. Don't tell anyone, but the tea that was stolen from the British was bricked up in a secret room in the Exchange Building. I'd love to gain access to that and have a real cup of tea, but have determined to go without until the conflict is over. Did someone mention lemonade? It's in the 70s here today.
Here in Virginia we have plenty of coffee, Susan! Boiled acorns, pah! Sounds like lemonade and ice would do for you. When I get down there we will find SOME way to get into the Exchange Building!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Sarah! I hope you have a day full of blessings.

ReplyDeleteAND DID I REALLY JUST WRITE LAURA FLOWERS???? Ummm....how silly ... DIANA FLOWERS ... geez, apparently I have had WAY too much birthday cake and coffee! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is because DIANA and I love LAURA FRANTZ, SARAH!!! I am sure she will take it as a compliment. I call Diana "Malibu Barbie" so I get she won't be bothered by being called Laura lol.
ReplyDeleteSarah, so glad you had a nice birthday! I hope they made a big fuss over you at your mom's house (okay, the little nephew, too, sigh, chuckle)!
