In a class of her own Triple Crown (Top Ten for Carrie, Diana, and Marian): Laura Frantz-The Colonel's Lady ( love all of her books)***
Here's my list of the rest of my top 10 ten authors of 2011...not necessarily in order:
Julie Lessman-Daughters of Boston Series, Revell ( love all of her books this was a September 2010 release)
Suzanne Woods Fisher-Lancaster County Secrets Series ( love all of her books)
Marcia Gruver-Backwoods Brides Series
Jody Hedlund-The Doctor's Lady
April Gardner - Wounded Spirits (November 2010 release)
Cindy Woodsmall-Ada's House Series (love all of her books) The Harvest of Grace was released in 2011.
I have read 3 books of this list. So there are 7 books on this list I need to read :)
ReplyDeleteIf Diana likes them I'm sure I will like them too!!
I've enjoyed several of these too! Great choices - especially The Merchant's Daughter. I will have to check out the others. Thanks for sharing your list.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and I enjoy some of the same authors, good list...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year from Ga.
I guess I better pick up Marcia Gruver. I see we have the same tastes. The Colonel's Lady was my number one as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diana!
This was a very difficult choice to make, and normally I have to read more than one book by the same author to see if she is consistently fantastic.
ReplyDeleteCarrie T., I loved Surrendered Hearts and just recommended it to a friend who just got a new Kindle, however, it is the only book of yours I have read, which I plan on rectifying this year.
I also tried to pick some different genres, which was tough, since I'm a die hard historical fiction fan!
Thank you, Marian, Paula, and Debra, for coming over and taking a look, and giving your opinions!
DIANA!!! WHOO-HOO, thank you SOOO much for including A Hope Undaunted on your top-ten list -- that blesses the socks off me, girl!!
ReplyDeleteI wish you, Carrie and Marian a most BLESSED new year!
Hugs,
Julie
Diana, Pardon my gushing, but I am BEYOND thrilled to have garnered the triple crown, especially being a Kentucky girl;) You don't know how you bless me. It's always humbling to think the Lord takes anything I write and blesses others. He gets all the credit for any reading pleasure and for making this list. I especially appreciate you, Carrie, and Marian as this helps promote godly reading material and opens our eyes to new authors we've not read before. I see several on your and Marian's list that I need to pick up and thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for being such a blessing. I needed that today.
Hi Diana! Thanks for the thumbs up for my story! Love seeing your other choices, too. I've read some of them and put the others on my must-read list. You and Carrie are...Just. The. Best. Happy New Year to you both! Warmly, Suzanne

ReplyDeleteJulie, Laura, and Suzanne, thank you so much for writing such wonderful books that bless our hearts, and take us away from it all for awhile! Thank God for all you hard working authors that bring us all so much pleasure, and may He bless you richly in the upcoming New Year!
ReplyDeleteI agree Diana.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
Fabulous list! I've read 90% of them and totally agree with you on their deservedness (and I'm not talking about mine, LOL). A big WOOT! on TWO WhiteFire books making the cut!! It's a true honor to be on your list, Diana!
ReplyDeleteThere was almost another one on there for WhiteFire, Roseanna, but I want to read some more of her work before I make that call...so perhaps in 2012?
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats, Roseanna, you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteWell I'm grinning like a Chesire cat. WOW, I'm thrilled to pieces that Shadowed in Silk is honored on this fine, fine list of Christian fiction. To echo Roseanna White----WOOOT, Woooot. And I'm still grinning from ear to ear.
ReplyDeleteMorning, Ladies!! I'm in awe that I made such a wonderful list among such fine authors!!! You don't know what this means to me! I really needed the blessing today. Thank you so much! And I agree with the other choices.. I adore Julie lessman, Laura Frantz.. although I haven't read her new one. I loved Shadowed in Silk! But I have yet to read the other ones.. my goodness.. so many books to read and so little time!!
ReplyDeleteThank you again, Diana!!! What a blessing you are!!!
Thank you so much, ladies, for including my book on your list!! I'm really honored to be among such talented authors! There are SO many great books and authors to choose from, I'm sure it wasn't easy to narrow the list down! Makes me all the more appreciative for your compliment!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
So well deserved, Christine, to a fine author and a sweet, Godly lady!
ReplyDeleteThank you, MaryLu, and YOU are the blessing if I must say so myself! Please don't get too lost in reading, that those marvelous books of yours are slow in coming! LOL! On a more serious note, thank you for all the hours of reading pleasure, for me and many others.
ReplyDeleteJody, it wasn't easy, but as soon as I read the Doctor's Lady, that choice was definitely an easy one for me! I can't wait for your next release!
ReplyDeleteOopsies, I should have caught that April Gardner's book was released late 2010. It was such a great book it was memorable for Diana for 2011, which is a wonderful compliment! So I have fixed this post. Warring Spirits is April's newest release, which looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Diana, for including my book!!! :-) I am determined to read some of these books, as I keep hearing how awesome they are!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you, girl, and Happy New Year!
Melanie, you certainly deserve it, and Happy New Year to you as well!
ReplyDeleteOk, I won The Colonel's Lady but haven't had time to read it. Guess I better get my rear in gear :) Other than Cindy Woodsmall and Roseanna White, I haven't read any of the other authors. Not that I don't have some of the books. Just been too busy.*hangs head in shame*
ReplyDeleteLift that chin right back up, Anne, for I happen to know by visiting your blog, that there are plenty you have read that I haven't got to yet either! :)
ReplyDeleteWow. I'm not worthy! Such amazing company to be lumped with. I could get used to hanging with this crowd. I consider this a late Christmas present. Thank you, Diana!!! You're a bona fide blessing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marcia, and this was very deserved! Not only is this crowd a bunch of fabulous authors, but some of the sweetest ladies I've had the pleasure to talk to! So, yes indeed, you surely belong here!~
ReplyDeleteWOW! Thanks for including Wounded Spirits on your list. I saw in the comments where you said you have to read several books by the same author to know if she's consistently good, so having Wounded Spirits on here is extra SUPER special. THANK YOU!! I'm totally honored.
ReplyDeleteI've read several of these books and agree that they're wonderful. Just finished Merchant's Dght last night! I've seen Jody's book on several top ten lists, so she's made it to my 2011 MUST BE READ list. Shoot, all of these have. If you like the book, odds are, I will too!
Thanks again, lovie. You're the best!
April, you are such a wonderful author and a little cutie, too! Anyone who loves books about the frontier, Indians, and forbidden romance, will love your books. Sounds alot like my friend, Laura Frantz's books, only about half the length. Hers are Julie Lessman looooong and I love every word! LOL! April, I am so looking forward to reading Warring Spirits!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's such an honor to be on this list with so many wonderful authors whose works I love to read. I'm very thankful to be included.
ReplyDeleteI know and love 5 of these authors books and you can find my reviews on Amazon, The Celebrity Cafe, Christianbook, alibris, and more.
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you all. I see some authors who books I do not know and hope to get to know.
