The Lumberjacks' Ball by Carrie Fancett Pagels, Cover by Cynthia Hickey |
The Lumberjacks' Ball Cover Reveal!!!
This is my brand new cover designed by Cynthia Hickey!!! And that's Rebecca Jane Daggenhart, the daughter of Lower Michigan store proprietors. Called "Janie" as a child, she was a pretty little blonde whose parents dressed her to the "T" to show off children's goods to their customers. But after surviving a brutal attack, Janie determines to avoid having attention called to herself. You'll notice there's no fancy gown for Rebecca Jane in this picture. She calls herself Rebecca Hart and has just begun running her own mercantile in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
It's 1891 in St. Ignace, Michigan, which is becoming a popular tourist destination and also has plenty of business to keep residents occupied. But will it also draw the wrong sort of clientele?
The Lumberjacks’ Ball Blurb
A decade after surviving a brutal attack, a mercantile owner’s daughter seeks to begin her life anew in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A gifted craftsman wishes to leave his lumberjack life and seeks employment at her new store. When his presence dredges up memories she sought to suppress, she must learn to overcome her demons. Can affection grow between the cabinetmaker and the proprietress of St. Ignace’s newest business? And will they survive to attend The Lumberjacks’ Ball?

TY, Natalie, this story was ORIGINALLY way way different!!! Rebecca Jane was the sweet daughter of a store proprietor and met her man, a lumberjack. THEN.....I listened to this HORRID song about a murderous lumberjack and one thing led to another!!!
DeleteCongratulations, Carrie! The book looks great. Looking forward to seeing the new cover for "Fruitcake Challenge", too.
ReplyDeletedbdempsey98(at)gmail(dot)com

DeleteCARRIE, I'm so excited about this story and can't wait to read how the cabinetmaker earns Rebecca's trust! Or IF he does! I super LOVE this cover and the heroine does indeed look very untouchable. No wonder!! Congrats, CARRIE!
ReplyDeleteYes, I told Cindy that Rebecca is a scarred heroine, albeit inside ( a little outside too, which is why the high necklines she wears.) Thanks, Angel Girl! XOXOXOXO

Thanks, Connie! It's fun to celebrate together.
DeleteSt. Ignace is the portal to one of my favorite travel destinations, so I can well imagine the setting, but look forward to learning more about a part of the history often overlooked in favor of the "voyageurs" and other earlier explorers. Roth6@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteDEBBIE, that is cool because St. Ignace is more portal on this story, too, to get to Ox's world! This is a short novel, so I don't get into a ton of history but I do have some! I hope you'll enjoy it!
DeleteCarrie, Always enjoy your books ! looking forward to reading your new one!

DeleteHello Carrie. So glad this book is about to come out and in my birthday month. It sounds really good and I have confidences that they will make it to the ball. Loved the Blog Hop Cover Reveal. Fun. Wasn't having the best of days and this helped perk me up. It would be horrible for either of the couple to be killed off at the end. And, great that you have another releasing in the near future. May GOD continue to bless you. Maxie > mac262(at)me(dot)com <
ReplyDeleteDid I somehow miss your birthday, Maxie? I sure hope not! Thanks so much for coming by. We've all been having a rough couple of days I think. Thanks so much, Maxie, and God bless you, too!!!

DeleteCongrats, dear Carrie!! I love delving into this kind of story line - when it is done well and within the lines of Christian fiction - and feel sure I will love "The Lumberjacks' Ball" even more than "The Fruitcake Challenge". I'm sure book # 3 will be just as wonderful, as will be "Saving the Marquise's Granddaughter". WOW - PTL for giving you the inspiration and strength to accomplish the writing of numerous beautiful works!! Hugs and prayers!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bonnie! Yes, PTL, indeed because I couldn't do any of this without God! I hope you love the books!
