Summer has had trust issues since childhood courtesy of her abusive parents, now these evil men are telling her a crazy story that Kyle is really David Hackett a man with ties to organized crime. If this is true, Summer will NEVER forgive him, whoever he is! If only she could find him to get the answers she needs!

Kyle Abernathy knows someone is following him and if they catch him he knows he will die but he can't let that happen, he has to get to Summer before they do or his beautiful wife could die also. Kyle has to explain why he did the one thing Summer told him she would never forgive; lying to her. Will Kyle live long enough to explain to Summer what is really going and to beg her forgiveness?

What an exciting story this is, Lynette surely knows how to get your heart pumping with the thrill of a deadly chase and the excitement of explosions and gunfights. All her books have a high level of suspense but this one has topped them all. From the very first page you are pulled into a fast paced, intriguing story that will have you wondering who the good guys are and if there is anyone left Summer and Kyle can trust. Thank you Lynette for an outstanding read!!

Alexia, Serena and Jillian were best friends in high school.

At the day they graduated Jillian saw something she had better not seen. Her friends saw that she was afraid of something, but Jillian never told them what she saw. That day she ran away out of their lives and neither Alexia nor Serena would hear from her in the next ten years. Also on that day Alexia started a new life. Her mother threw out of the house and she didn't know where to go.

Ten years later Alexia is a firefighter and she is loving her job. When she is in a burning house trying to save a child she runs out of air due to equipment failure. It seems like her equipment is sabotaged. She is off duty while the case is investigated.

Her friend Serena calls her to ask her to come home for a high school reunion. Serena also tries to talk Alexia in visiting her mother whom is in the hospital. Alexia hasn't seen her mom since she threw her out of the house. According to Serena her mother has changed, but Alexia finds it hard to believe.

When she comes home, she first visits her mother's house. When she is inside she's hearing a noise from the basement. When she goes to investigate she finds a man bleeding to death.

The police arrive and she's surprised to see Hunter as the detective. She knows him from high school. Hunter was a couple of years older than Alexia.

Hunter was attracted to Alexia in high school, but she didn't seem to show any interest in him. Now 10 years later he finds himself still attracted to her. His partner doesn't like Alexia and thinks she's quilty. Soon more troubles start and Alexia is always in the center of it. Can Hunter keep her safe? Will he believe in her innocence? Does the equipment failure at work has anything to do with the troubles at home?

Alexia has no idea who is after her. In between all the troubles she visits her mother and tries to remember things from her youth. She also seems to run into God everywhere. Will she surrender to Him?

This was a fast paced action book. I had a hard time putting the book down. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

In this second book in the Deadly Reunion Series we meet Serena—Alexia’s friend. If you have read the first book then you have met Alexia.

Serena is a medical examiner and close friends with Alexia and Jillian—we read about them in the first book When the Smoke Clears. On their graduation night Jillian had seen something that was so awful that she had to flee town. Her friends didn’t know where she went, or if she was still alive.

Now it is ten years later. Jillian has contacted Serena and has sent her a package to keep safe. Serena is not allowed to open the package unless she receives word of Jillian’s death.

There are some bad people who know about the package and really want to have it.

One night Serena awakens and finds a man in her bedroom searching through her drawers. Serena is convinced that the man is looking for the package, but she doesn’t understand how he knows about it.

FBI agent Dominic Allen—Alexia’s brother—is working on a case of a murdered woman who was found in the park. Serena is the medical examiner on this case who is doing the autopsy. She used to have a crush on Dominic when she was a young teenager and still finds herself blushing easily when she’s around him. Dominic likes to see her blush and he does also notice what a beautiful woman Serena has become.

When more dead women show up they get to work closely on the murder cases. Soon Serena’s life is threatened and Dominic is trying to provide the best protection, but somehow the serial killer knows how to get into Serena’s house.

When they find a connection in the murder cases, will they be able to prevent more killings? Can they stop this serial killer? Can Serena stay out of the hands of the killer? How are the killings and Jillian’s package connected? And is there a chance at love for Serena and Dominic?

Sometimes this book really gave me the creeps. There was a serial killer and then also reading about Serena’s work as a medical examiner was for me a creepy combination.

The storyline was very nicely done, the characters are believable, and the writing is exciting. This book surely will keep readers turning the pages!

If you like exciting and scary stories—this book is for you!

Take note that this series must be read in order of release. The mystery of Jillian’s disappearance started in book 1 and will come to conclusion in the next book (I hope). This book is a cliffhanger, but the ending is satisfying enough to wait several months to read the concluding book in this series.

Lynette Eason is the author of WHEN A HEART STOPS, Book #2 of the Deadly Reunions series. Lynette has also written The Women of Justice series and writes for Harlequin’s Love Inspired line. She has written/contracted thirty two books, including a short e-book, since 2007.

Lynette, welcome to Overcoming With God.  We appreciate your willingness to share your testimony of overcoming with our readers. 

Thanks so much for having me.

Would you tell us about the most difficult thing in your life you have had to overcome, with God’s help? 
One of the most difficult things I’ve had to overcome is my sensitivity to my hearing loss. I wear hearing aids but still miss a lot of what people say. Or if someone is calling my name from behind, I won’t hear. Because my hair is long, it covers up the aids and people don’t notice them. 

Deafness is a very invisible handicapping condition. When you’re blind, you can wear sunglasses and carry a cane, or use a service dog. If you have mobility issues, you can use crutches or a wheelchair, etc. These are very visible tools that are signals to others. Hearing aids are so small, they can go unnoticed. 

At first, I was very self-conscious about it, but acted like I didn’t care. Thankfully, I’ve come to accept the hearing loss and not make a big deal out of it. It’s inconvenient and bothersome sometimes, and can be embarrassing when I don’t hear something, but I’ve learned to just say, “Hey, I wear hearing aids. If you want me to know what you’re saying, you’re going to have to use a little effort.” Some people can be rude about it, but 99% are not. They understand and they make the effort. And I appreciate it. I’ve also asked God to use the hearing loss in a way that will glorify Him. And I smile when it happens. 

What is your favorite bible verse and why? I have different favorite verses for different life situations, but I think my overall favorite is: Proverbs 3:5-6. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.⁶ In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” I think the reason I love these verse so much is because I can rest assured that the Lord wants what’s best for me in life. No matter what happens, no matter what disappointments or discouragements that will come my way, I can trust in Him and lean on him and know that He’s going to take care of the details. I love that about Him.

Disability friendliness: Is this latest release available in audio format or do you have any other works available on audio?  Do your e-books have audio capability? Do you have any in large print?  
I know that a lot of my Love Inspired Suspense books are available in true large print format. I don’t believe any of the Revell books are and I know they’re not available in audio book format. I think if you have a kindle with text to speech ability, you can listen to the book that way.

What has been the most important thing you hope your readers will get from your books and why? The most important thing to me is knowing that God’s love is jumping off the page and into the readers’ hearts. I pray that my writing is a ministry to other, offering hope in the midst of trials.

As you researched your books, did you learn anything that particularly touched your heart? Well, a lot of my research grosses me out more than anything, but one thing I really loved about my research about law enforcement is how dedicated these people are to serving others. Even the ones who don’t profess to be Christians still have that desire to help others, to be there in times of trouble. Police, FBI, firemen and women, Paramedics, etc. They have something inside them that makes them special and I just appreciate each and every one of them.
