My friend, Christy Zumbrun, is a professional cake baker, and here's a pretty one she made a few years back. Where is Teresa's 40 layer cake, you wonder—um, we sure wouldn't want the birthday girl to make her own cake now, would we? Or maybe we could, but that's a secret!
Here's a little rhyme for our poetess:
Most violets are purple,
And many roses are red,
If you think I can bake a 40 layer cake,
You are out of your head!
How do you like that, Teresa?!!!
Sit down and enjoy a cup of hot tea or we'll pour you some lemonade. This little teapot has its own teacup on the bottom. One of our followers won this cute combo last year. Who doesn't like pink and hearts?

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the poem, I think it will give me lots of inspiration while writing my next poem, or maybe baking my next cake. I did bake 2-24 layer chocolate cakes and a lemon cake yesterday for a fundraiser our church had for Carlton. Funny you should mention me baking my own cake, I think I will do just that!! I am thinking of a nice purple cake with roses all over it!! ;-) I promise I'll post a picture on my Facebook page when I do.

DeleteJosh and I had a rough start to our day so we didn't even get to have lunch together. I guess that happens when your "babies" grow up!! lol We did just share his birthday cake, I couldn't resist buying him an ice cream cake!! YUM YUM... I think I might have to bake myself one tomorrow! After baking all those yesterday for the fundraiser I took the day off from baking!! :-)

I love hearing you play the piano. I've always wished I could do that. But my left hand only wants to copy my right. I have always loved to sing "How Great Thou Art." Great birthday party. God has blessed you with 40 years. I can't bake you a cake with 40 layers but have my Grandmother's recipe for chocolate cake with 13 layers.
