Pray for those with Multiple Myeloma

Carlton Mathews, Teresa's husband

This past week we learned our precious Teresa Mathews' husband, Carlton, has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.  We are asking our readers to pray for Carlton and the Mathews family and to also pray for others who are battling this disease. On OWG we previously posted about how the Mathews family was given provision by God in 1999 to get through a great many trials, including when Carlton had cancer.

There are several organizations that address this illness One is the International Myeloma Association.  IMA has publications and something called the Myeloma Minute a free email newsletter.  The American Cancer Association also has a section for Multiple Myeloma. Of course we are directing our attention to the Great Healer and His Word, as well.

Will you join me in lifting up Carlton, Teresa, and their sons? Will you commit to praying weekly for them as God brings about full healing?  Let's also pray for other families battling this illness, particularly for those who need to know the Lord.  I don't know why God is allowing the Mathews family to go through this valley but I do know He will be with them. And I know He will use it for their good. Valley times are not fun times they are growth journeys in Christ. Please surround Teresa, Carlton, and their sons with prayers and an encouraging word.

Can you please leave a prayer for Carlton and those suffering with myeloma?

  1. Heavenly Father, you know how much we love Bro. Carlton and Sis. Teresa. They have blessed and encouraged so many and I ask you to encourage them through this dark time as well. Lord, grant them peace, strength, and healing. You're still the same God that parted the Red Sea, healed the blind man, and caused the lame to walk. You're still the same yesterday, today, and forever, and there is no shadow of turning with thee. We are asking you for a miracle for Bro. Carlton and all those suffering with Myeloma, and as your Word declares in Mark 11:23 to speak to the mountain, I speak to this mountain of sickness in Carlton's body and say, "Be thou removed you foul spirit of cancer and be cast into the sea" and You promised we would have what we say if we don't doubt. We thank you in advance for all that you are going to do, in the precious name of your beloved son, Jesus Christ, by whose stripes we are healed! Thank you, Jesus! Hallelujah!

  2. Lord comfort this wonderful family and be with Carlton as he fights this disease. Just as you brought me through BC almost 20 years ago, you can do the same for Carlton. Sometimes you need us to walk THROUGH the fire to show your mighty powers, but God is always walking beside us and/ or carrying us through. Prayers for Teresa's family, as well as ALL who must walk this path of cancer. We also pray that you will provide the money needed for these treatments...
    Amen

God's plan and timing are perfect, He is so faithful and tells us to rejoice and give thanks even during the trials - trials bring blessings and growth through Him. 8. O Father of mercies and God of all comfort, our only help in time of need: We humbly beseech thee to behold, visit and relieve thy sick servant Carlton, for whom our prayers are desired. Look upon him with the eyes of thy mercy; comfort him with a sense of thy goodness; preserve him from the temptations of the enemy; and give him patience under his affliction. In thy good time, restore him to health, and enable him to lead the residue of his life in thy fear, and to thy glory; and grant that finally he may dwell with thee in life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
