Last week I was having a conversation with Diana about a
sermon my brother, Steve Sharpe, preached a few weeks ago at our church. It was
a beautiful sermon on how much God loves us and that we are priceless to him.
Sometimes pastors are quick to preach “the do nots” and “the you can’ts” and
“the you better not or God is gonna getcha”. Yes, it is true we have to repent
of our sins but the Bible also teaches us that God loves us in spite of
Ephesians 2:4-8 tells; “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
After thinking about this sermon, I was impressed to write this poem. I hope it touches someone and helps them realize that no matter where they are or where they have been in life; there is someone who loves them and is just waiting for them to run to Him. He will forgive their sins and will love them forever and He is just waiting to prove
