Giveaway and Audiobook Review of The Wedding Chapel by Rachel Hauck

Premise: A lonely wedding chapel built as a tribute to lost love just might hold the long-awaited secret to hope and reconciliation.
Will History Repeat Itself?
Rachel Hauck has really hit her stride with this lovely audiobook. The narrator wasn't quite right, she failed on the British accents, but the story overcame those issues!
At the center of this story is a sixty year old wedding chapel, hidden on an elderly former coach's property.  While I loved the dual stories (I am not a contemporary fiction fan but I love Rachel's stories) with a romance from sixty years earlier between an English immigrant, Collette, and a football player, Jimmy, plus a modern day photographer, Taylor,  impulsively married to a rising star adman, Jack, with heavy childhood baggage he's failed to overcome. We are also treated to the historical heroine's romance moving to modern times, when she is in her early 80s and newly retired from her famous career as a soap opera star. Rachel Hauck does a great job of painting out Collette Greer's toxic (super toxic!) sister in gradual strokes.
When all the players end up back in Heart’s Bend, all the secrets come barreling out! You have to wait through the story and one I had guessed but the other not, so that was an interesting twist.  I have to say, with twenty-five years as a psychologist, that without God, the outcome for the young couple would not have occurred.
A super satisfying ending, which all readers want, will give the reader double enjoyment!!! Highly recommend!

A deep and multi-layered plot!

Bibliotherapy elements: Deception, toxic relationships, lost love, second chances, marital issues, abused/abandoned child and impact on life, adoption, and so many more! This is a bibliotherapy delight with lots of emotional impact!

    1. Hi Connie! I think it is pretty hard to write a dual timeline story like Rachel Hauck did with The Wedding Chapel, but she sure has the talent to do it!
