Poor thing getting your foot stuck in the door must have hurt pretty bad. OUCH!

Where we live in SC we don't have a subway or anything like it and if we did I think I would be a little frightened to ride it, We don't live right in the downtown area which I'm glad for because every night on the news you will hear of at least one shooting, robbery or murder.

We visited DC for a vacation a few years ago and was tempted to ride the subway so I was in the Hotel lobby and the young lady at the desk was trying to help me find out the closest station to our location. She connected me to the transit and I was on hold. While I was standing there something told me to hang up the phone and get out of the lobby. We had forgotten something in our room and turned around about 5 minutes later to go back and the place was surrounded by police.
Right after I had walked out of the lobby a man walked in with a gun and robbed the place. I was thanking God over and over that I listened to Him telling me to leave. :)
Teresa Mathewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16979337973257260777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8713519582170578996.post-92066074179631589792013-02-22T15:24:36.341-05:002013-02-22T15:24:36.341-05:00VICKI you MADE IT!! My hubby also experienced a pick-pocketer, on our 1st trip to Madrid (it is rampid there!) 3 guys surrounded him on the subway train and the 2 in front of him began shaking his pant legs & we couldn't figure out what was going on. In the meantime, the guy behind hm grabbed his wallet from his back pocket (He ALWAYS uses his frot pocket now!) They ran off the train and after feeling for his wallet & realizing they had gotten it, he ran ofter them yelling, "He got my wallet! He got my wallet!", leaving me alone on the train! I darted after him, only to have the doors to the train close on my foot (I thought it would be like an elevator and re-open, when something was in the way), so I began yelling, "I need to get off! I need to get off!" Remember, we are in a spanish speaking country!). Jon caught up with the culprits and they returned his wallet AND the money in it, but held out their hands for a reward for returning his "lost wallet". Jon ran back & pushed the button on the door (I didn't realize, all I had to do was push the button in front of me to release my foot) & said, "Thanks for holding the train!" This was one of my 1st expedriences using the subway (we don't have them in Oregon) and I think the part that surprised us and upset us the most, was the fact that even though we were yelling for help NOBODY did or said ANYTHING! Jon now carries his wallet in his front pocket and we are very watchful of our things while riding the metro transit systems now. He also now knows NOT to put anything of value in his coat pocket either...
VickiJon and Vicki Marneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03490578546719296693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8713519582170578996.post-62709918776809737402013-02-22T13:35:14.082-05:002013-02-22T13:35:14.082-05:00VICKI that is terrible about your camera. I'll be praying that you will find your purple camera.

My sister went to London a few years ago and there was an amazing amount of young kids that were picking people's pockets, She caught one right as she was going to do that to my brother-in-law. They are very brave, didn't act afraid at all when my sister stopped her.

Thanks for stopping by today!Teresa Mathewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16979337973257260777noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8713519582170578996.post-1656309347637196572013-02-22T13:10:34.148-05:002013-02-22T13:10:34.148-05:00HEY! IT WORKED! Now I will type a REAL post (FYI--...HEY! IT WORKED! Now I will type a REAL post (FYI--Diana--I tried switching to IE)

Losing things--YIKES! I think losing is my middle name! I'm constantly losing track of things--set it down somewhere, walk away and voila! It is gone! My husband is usually good at figuring it out, helping me to back=track my steps. However, I'm also known to put things "somewhere safe" and then can't remember where the safe 0lace is located--like with my new purple camera I got for Christmas the christmas before last. I had only used it a few times--just long enough to run the battery down. I wasn't sure where I had oout the charger, so I put the camera "somewhere safe", until I could locate the charger. It has now been nearly a year and I still haven't found that "safe place" where my camera is, even though we located the charger, quite quickly!

A couple weeks ago, on our last day in Paris, my husband had put the "other" camera into his coat pocket, and a few minutes later, it was gone--we think he got pick-pocketed, since we should have heard it hit the cement if it had just fallen out. Now, we REALLY want to find my lost, purple camera! Will one of you people who prays to fid things, please send a little prayer up for my camera? It has been so long, my husband is convinced that I just lost it somewhere and that it is nowhere in the house...
vmarney(at)hotmail(dot)com
Vicki OWGJon and Vicki Marneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03490578546719296693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8713519582170578996.post-64313201810132643862013-02-22T12:36:21.158-05:002013-02-22T12:36:21.158-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Jon and Vicki Marneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03490578546719296693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8713519582170578996.post-11371854700433258112013-02-22T12:26:46.485-05:002013-02-22T12:26:46.485-05:00I have been havng difficulties trying to post here...I have been havng difficulties trying to post here, so going to keep this short as a test.
