Where is Carrie Fancett Pagels This Week?

Author Carrie Fancett Pagels

Besides being here on the OWG blog this week, I'm also visiting on Debbie Lynne Costello's blog Sword and the Spirit on Monday and on Friday I have a guest post at Heroes, Heroines and History (Lumberjack days at HHH blog).  There will be giveaways on both blogs.
The Fruitcake Challenge by Carrie Fancett Pagels, Book 3Christmas Traditions Series

Last week, I guest posted on the ACFW blog and my novella, The Fruitcake Challenge, was reviewed on two blogs: Diana Montgomery's Teatime Reviews and Robin Wilson's Books You Can Feel Good About.

Giveaway: Copy of Carrie's new novella and a set of A Cup of Christmas Cheer (Guidepost Books, 2013) hardcover books (which includes Carrie's short story in book one, Tales of Faith and Family for the Holidays:  "Snowed In: A Northwoods Christmas") will be given away to someone who comments on this post and on the other two posts this week. Answer this question: In Carrie's short story last year in the Guidepost Books' collection, the heroine Eliza (renamed Elsie by the editor) had something in common with Josephine Christy, the heroine in The Fruitcake Challenge.  What was it?

  1. I've so enjoyed following you around lately :) Eliza & Josephine both in Lumberjack camps settings must have been so fun to write about. Looking forward to reading their stories. Enjoyed your interviews Carrie :)

  2. Love the time era. Life n love were different but a blessing. Sounds like me not looking for love but the Lord had different plans than I. Can't wait to read her book. LeAnn Mooneyham angel4god2013(at)gmail(dot)com

    1. My heroine was running out of hope in The Fruitcake Challenge. Yes, Jo had given up on finding love and really just wants out of that lumber camp. Then she meets Tom. Or rather he meets her! Thank you, I hope you'll get a chance to read my story. At only 99 cents for the initial sales price, the books in the Christmas Traditions series are all a bargain!

  3. I haven't read Guidepost Books, so I won't be able to answer the question. Hope that doesn't count against me. I do love books about Christmas.

  4. Wow! Carrie, you are a busy lady this week, visiting the different sites. It's been fun seeing where you're going to be next. I haven't read "Snowed In" so I can't give you an answer on your question, but I would LOVE to read it! :) Can I still enter?

  5. Hi, Carrie!!

    Congrats on "The Fruitcake Challenge!!

I've just returned from a few days out-of-town and today am getting caught up on comments and shares for each of your posts this week. I loved "The Fruitcake Challenge" and just received Vol. 1 of A Cup of Christmas Cheer (I don't have book 2) - finishing the story of "Snowed In" just a few minutes ago. I loved it as well - so heart-warming!! I will get a review posted for it ASAP.

The answer to your question may be that Elsie's mother had cooked in a logging camp, just as Josephine's mother had, both mothers had passed away, and both heroines had helped their mothers in the logging camp kitchens.

    Prayers and hugs, Carrie!!

  7. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on these stories, so I'm throwing my name into your hat please. Since I haven't read either yet--only the reviews, I will guess that they both involve a lumberjack camp.
