Christmas Blessings Continue - Giveaway of Murray Pura's "Majestic and Wild"

Majestic and Wild
Baker Books (April 15, 2013)

Murray Pura is a brilliant man. I greatly enjoyed working with him on the Cry of Freedom series through Helping Hands Press, this past year.  If you get a chance, listen to him on one of his many interviews or read our OWG interview with Murray (click here), which was one of the most touching we've ever had.

Read Noela's review of this devotional (click here) or Marian's.

Giveaway:  You must be a Follower on OWG (just put OWG). Answer this question: Do you use a daily devotional and if so why?

  2. Fabulous reviews, ladies. Someday I plan on reading this, but I DO have two devotionals that I love and read on a daily basis. Joyce Meyer's and Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. Great devotionals!

  4. I have several devotionals: Joyce Meyer, Liz Curtis Higgs, Ann Voskamp. They get my day going, in preparation for deeper bible study - later, & the examples/stories that go along with them, back up the scripture so well, & often "hit home", & get me thinking.

    1. I do have a copy of Murray's 'Rooted' and it is exceptionally good! His writing is so descriptive and poignant. I'm sure this one is right up there in comparison.

    2. I'm with you, Anne. I also have several devotionals, but don't use them daily. I like my Bible best, but so now and then I read a devotional. I love Murray's devotionals. If you think Rooted is good, then you will surely enjoy Majestic and Wild as well!!

  8. I like Tammy above me, like them but I'm too ADD to remember to use them on a regular basis. I really should make it more of a priority I guess. I would love to win, & read (& review) Murray's book Wild & Magestic.

    1. This will sound awful but I keep my tiny hardcover of Joyce's book in my bathroom and before I get into bed at night, I read it. It is right there where I brush my teeth and that has really worked for me! A habit!

  9. I do - it is on my iPad. The Bible app has many different daily devotionals available. I am reading through the Bible, have a short application style devotional and with the Christmas season, a devotional that is specific to the time of year.

  10. I have a Women's Devotional for a number of years that I bought from Guideposts and every year I use it, I get more and something different from it. Also, I have a Scripture Promise Box that a co-worker bought over fifteen years ago. God's word and his promises never change. I want them to become more powerful to me and change me where I am weak. Thank you for the chance to win this giveaway and please enter my name.

  11. Yes, Murray is a wonderful writer! I do try to do a devotional, of course life sometimes gets in the way. Which is bad - I need that daily reminder of God's presence and my reason in life. I need to keep up with it!

  14. OWG Yes we do,read a devotional. My husband and I read the devotional in Open Windows every morning. Then we have been reading the suggested bible reading in it along with reading the Proverb according to the date. That means we read each one 12 times a year. Plus we each have others that we read separately. I have several that I read for a yer or so and then switch to another. I can tell when we miss it. We always go back and catch up.

  15. This is a wonderful book of Murray's - it's breathtaking, exciting, and inspirational! And one of my favorite books of the year. :)
CARRIE, I'm reading Joyce's Morning and Evening Devotional this year (2nd year I've done this book), but most of this year I've only been reading the Evening devotional's, only because this year I've had a hard time waking up sufficiently in the mornings to make sense of much! ;) For the new year of 2014, I've bought a new devotional by Joyce Meyer called 'Trusting God Day by Day', and I'm really keen to begin reading this new one by her!

  18. I have a lot of Devotionals, just need to get into a regular habit again of reading them. Also my Bible. I'm sure GOD is not pleased with my not doing it. I really do have good intentions, but that's not good enough. You could say a little prayer for me. i also have a CD where you listen to about 30 min.each day and here the New Testament in in 30 or 60 days I believe. I really did enjoy it that way. Wasn't sure I would. Our whole church was doing it at the same time. Was thinking a few days ago that I needed to listen to it again. I also was following along with my Bible. I didn't realize Murray's was a Devotional. I would love this chance to win it. OWG is the best! Love all of you. I'm in a better habit of keeping up with you than my other devotional. But this group is a good one to. Maxie mac262(at)me(dot)com
