  1. how fun is this! Congratulations, Marian. I had the honor of reading this lovely debut and it truly suprised this jaded and cynical old writer--a lovely ending I didn't see coming, AND a terrific dog (Irish, too!). And Civil Warsertting. . .a perfect trifecta of wonderful!
Mmmm, this orange punch is lovely. Cheers, Marian!

Orange is the Dutch color, so that's why we're having an orange party. So it's not my fave color and has nothing to do with the story. ;)

  5. WHOO-HOO, MARIAN, SUPER CONGRATS ON THE DEBUT!!! Had no idea you aspired to write novellas/novels, but am THRILLED for you because it's quite a ride!! The premise sounds WONDERFUL TOO!!

Your testimony was very touching and inspiring -- a good reminder that He has to be our ALL in ALL!!

Okay, call me obtuse, but not exactly sure why the orange color is significant ... is it just your favorite color/flavor or is there something deeper?? :) My favorite orange things are Clementines and orange cake with orange icing!

    HUGS and HAPPY DEBUT!!

Carrie is right - Orange is the Dutch color. It's not my favorite color, but I like it enough. And someone liked to call me Soldier of Orange for some time. ;)

  19. Congratulations Marian. So, I see you changed your mind about not going to write a book. That's good! Will be good when I can read it, but have to wait for a print copy. Hope that nice-looking cake is not all gone. If not I'll have a slice and some orange sherbet. Sounds delicious. Sorry girls that I am so late. Started out with a nice cool Autumn day for going to church. Then when I started home, the first 3 times I stopped, my car felt funny and made this horrible rumble sound almost like it was trying to go with tires that weren't rolling..(ever have a problem trying to make a guy understand how a car sounds?) Never heard that kind of sound with any of my cars before. Well, turned around and went back to the church to park the car and call my Lori to take me home.
Well, two couples were still there, so asked one to drive it and see what he thought was wrong. (Have any idea what happened?) He said he stopped several times and heard nothing. Figures. (Haven't figured out why they always work fine for guys when you want them to hear some sound.) Decided maybe cars just don't like women.) Well, the couple drove me home and they had no problem. So now I won't be going anywhere until my son has time to get my car and try to find the problem. Told him to just keep it several days and try to find what is wrong. If not, just might not drive it. NOT good! Keep me in your prayers please. And enjoy this party. These gals sure know how to party. Maxie

    1. How many times has that happened to me? Car will be making a funny noise and hubby will bring it back and say he didn't hear a thing! It's called selective hearing at least where husbands are concerned! You will love Marian's story, MAXIE...we are really proud of her. Alot of talent on this blog! Wonder what I'm doing on here. Lol And, yes we can party down! Hugs to you, Maxie.

    2. MAXIE I am so glad those people drove you home and you are safe and sound. So sorry about your car...that's the way it always happens. Silly ole cars try to make us ladies look bad! Hopefully your son will figure it out. Going to get you a slice of that cake in minute and some yummy punch and I'm so glad you mentioned orange sherbet! I LOVE Orange Sherbet! As the guy on that cooking show says....It's Sooo Good!! Thanks for coming by. ((Big Hugs)) to you!

  21. Congratulations on Heaven Is Not Far, Marian! SO happy for you!

Read your testimony - SO touching! Aren't those times of delight in the Lord wonderful? And - you're right, the greatest joy seems to come after our hardest fall. But - we serve a wonderful, patient, God , who is always waiting there to pick us up. I've found that true, lasting, happiness comes when I leave the reins in His hand.
